LI Dance Instructor Indicted On Charges Of Having Sexual Affair With Girl, 14
BAY SHORE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island dance instructor stood indicted Monday with having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl whom he had been teaching, prosecutors said.
Bryan Galvis, 27, was to be arraigned on Tuesday in Riverhead on rape and other charges after being indicted by a grand jury, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office. The indictment will be unsealed on Tuesday.
Prosecutors alleged that Galvis, a dance instructor at the Herencia Calena Latin Dance Company in Bay Shore, began his sexual relationship with the girl in October 2015. The victim eventually told a family member about it and police were contacted, prosecutors said.
Galvis was arrested in January, and has been free on $100,000 bond since, prosecutors said.
