LaGuardia Airport Boasts New Control Tower
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- A new state of the art control tower at LaGuardia Airport was operational Monday.
The $100 million facility replaces the old tower, which was used for more than 40 years.
The FAA said the new tower gives air traffic controllers better visibility, and has an advanced ground radar system that gives controllers better information about aircraft still on runways and taxiways.
