9/5 CBS2 Labor Day Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
We're still feeling the effects of Hermine this afternoon, but things won't be quite as bad as expected. Towards the west, sunshine and 80s will be common; to the east and along the coast, expect more cloud cover with blustery conditions and a chance for some rain and showers. As for the beaches, rough surf and dangerous rip currents are expected, so continue to play it safe!
Also, a tropical storm warning still remains in effect for Suffolk county until further notice, so be sure to check back for updates.
Hermine will jog towards us tonight into tomorrow which could take up our wind and rain chances a tad, but the storm will weaken as it does so. And into Wednesday, Hermine will begin to push more north and east with the remaining concern being minor to moderate coastal flooding during high tide.
A summer feel will be back in place mid to late week with hot temps and more humid conditions.
