L.I. Woman Arrested After Dispute Over Tip At Nightclub
WEST HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island woman is accused of attacking another woman with a camera tripod over a tipping dispute.
The incident happened early Sunday morning at the Rumors Nightclub on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead.
Police said Kashmire Dawson, 24, of Amityville got into a verbal confrontation with a 26-year-old woman in the club's bathroom over whether to tip the restroom attendant.
The argument then escalated in the parking lot after both women were kicked out of the club by security, police said. Dawson went to her car, got a camera tripod and hit the woman in the arm, police said.
The woman was taken to the hospital where she was treated for pain and a cut to her right hand, police said.
Dawson is charged with assault and possession of a dangerous weapon.
