L.I. Man Arrested For Attempted Burglary With Pitchfork
ROOSEVELT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - Nassau County Police arrested a man for an attempted burglary using a pitchfork.
According to police, Michael Brown, 39, of Freeport was arrested on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. after he tried to break down the door of a Roosevelt home using a pitchfork.
The victim, a 58-year-old woman, was inside at the time and called police. She and Brown know each other, police said.
When officers arrived, they found Brown nearby riding a bicycle that had been reported stolen earlier in the day. They also found marijuana on Brown at the time of his arrest.
He has been charged with attempted burglary, unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of stolen property.
Officers recovered the pitchfork.
Brown was due to be arraigned in Nassau County court on Sunday.
