WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs reports
The idea is to bring help to drug and alcohol addicted students by housing an out-patient clinic - at William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach.
It's smart, says one parent, to bring help to the kids.
"Because right now, we have a major, major epidemic on Long Island with heroin," the parent told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs.
Xirinachs asked, "Why do you think it would be especially beneficial in a school?"
The parent answered, "In a school? Because I think that's where it starts."
It'll make it easier for kids to seek help, says another dad.
The clinic would be run by a private firm at no cost to the district, paid for with parents' health insurance.
