L.I. High School Teacher Arrested, Charged With DWAI Following Morning Hit-And-Run Accident
CENTER MORICHES, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) - A Long Island high school teacher is facing charges she was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol following a hit-and-run crash Monday morning.
Suffolk County Police announced they arrested 47-year-old Tracey Forman at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the parking lot of Center Moriches High School.
Moments earlier, police said she crashed into an unoccupied van parked about a mile from the school.
The Patchogue resident was being held for arraignment on Tuesday. She is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol.
Prosecutors say Forman had a prior arrest in December on a charge of shoplifting $347 in merchandise from a department store.
School officials did not immediately comment.
