Kris Humphries Engagement To Kim Kardashian Not A Concern For Nets Coach Avery Johnson
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Power forward Kris Humphries was a bright spot in an overall bleak season for the New Jersey Nets.
Almost as bright as the 20.5 carat engagement ring his fiancee, reality star Kim Kardashian, is rocking after the couple announced their engagement late last month.

After six relatively quiet years in the NBA, Humphries experienced what ESPN called a "life-changing year" on the court, with a breakout season that helped the Nets double their number of wins from the previous year.
So will wedding planning and a marriage to reality television star Kim Kardashian distract the 26-year-old NBA player from his on-the-court duties?
His coach doesn't think so.
"Kris is a focused young man and we know he's real passionate about the game of basketball," Nets head coach Avery Johnson told CBSNewYork. "The life that he's leading right now, that's just a part of this new social media, that's just a part of his lifestyle."
With Humphries set to become a free agent at the end of this season, Johnson is making it a priority to re-sign him, as the franchise looks to build upon the progress they've already made in terms of acquiring talent.
"We're excited about the possibility of having him back next year," Johnson said. "He knows how much we want him back."
