Report: Knicks Eyeing Hawks Guard Bazemore In Free Agency
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Knicks found their point guard last week when they traded for Derrick Rose. But they still have holes to fill in their starting lineup at shooting guard and center.
According to the New York Post, the Knicks have heavy interest in shooting guard Kent Bazemore, who spent the past two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks.
The Knicks are expected to have about $30 million to spend under the salary cap when the free agent signing period begins next week. Bazemore is expected to seek a deal averaging at least $16 million a year, the Post reported.
Bazemore, who turns 27 on Friday, averaged 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds last season, his first as a full-time starter. The 6-foot-5 guard is also known for his strong defense.

Bazemore is not scheduling meetings with other teams until the Hawks make their intentions regarding him clear, according to the Post. He, however, is not ruling out the Knicks as a landing spot, the newspaper said.
The Knicks also reportedly have interest in 33-year-old shooting guard Kevin Martin. He averaged 9.3 points per game last season with the Timberwolves and Spurs.
