Reports: Knicks To Get Marcus Camby In Sign-And-Trade
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- The Camby man is set to join the New York Knicks, according to a report from Yahoo! Sports.
The Knicks met with Marcus Camby on Sunday in Houston in hopes of reaching an agreement to bring the veteran center back to New York.
Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the deal would involve a sign-and-trade with Houston. The Rockets would get guard Toney Douglas, forward Josh Harrellson, center Jerome Jordan, second-round picks in 2014 and 2015, along with cash to pay Douglas' salary.
The Yahoo! report also indicates that Camby will sign a three-year, $13.2 million, with a partial guarantee for the third year.
Earlier, league sources said that the Knicks and Nets were aggressively pursing the 38-year-old center.
Camby played with the Knicks from 1999-2002 and helped the team to a 1999 NBA Finals appearance. His career averages include 9.7 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game. He would be a defensive presence off the bench for the Knickerbockers.
Forward Carmelo Anthony played six seasons with Camby with the Denver Nuggets, and had openly expressed interest in having Camby rejoin the Knicks.
