Knicks Agree To One-Year Deal With Shooting Guard Ronnie Brewer
NEW YORK (WFAN) - The Knicks have agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent shooting guard Ronnie Brewer, according to multiple reports.
Brewer entered the free-agent market when his former team, the Chicago Bulls, decided not to pick up his $4.3 million option for this upcoming season.
The former first-round pick of the Utah Jazz expressed jubilation upon joining the Knicks, tweeting "New York Knicks lets get it!!!" on Tuesday morning.
The 27-year-0ld appeared in all 66 games for the Bulls last season -- starting 43 of them -- averaging 6.2 points, 2.1 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 24.8 minutes per game.
The six-foot-seven, 227-pounder played his first four seasons with the Jazz before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2010. He played the last two seasons with Chicago.
