Kips Bay Home Invaders Remain At Large
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are still hunting for three men they say pushed their way into a Kips Bay apartment and tied up two residents before stealing several items from inside.
As CBS 2's Janelle Burrell reported, the suspects were captured on surveillance video entering the 28th Street building around 7 p.m. Thursday. Once they forced their way into the home, they tied up two sisters -- ages 33 and 14 -- and then ransacked the apartment, stealing an XBox, iPhones, a leather coat and $460 in cash, police say.
It is not clear whether the robbers knew their victims or if it was a random attack.
Anthony, who lives in the building, which is across the street from Bellevue Hospital, told 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria that he doesn't believe the victims were picked at random.

"Can't get in unless you have a key or you know someone to buzz in," he said. "The security guard don't open the door for nobody. They're not allowed. I'm thinking this had to be somebody they knew."
Douglas, who also lives in the building, said he's not overly worried after hearing about the home invasion.
"You've got to be aware what's going on," he said. "Protect yourself. Look ahead. You know what I'm saying? That's how you survive out here."
"You're supposed to be safe in your own home, where you pay rent," Ingrid Diablo, of East New York, told Burrell. "You think that's where you should be safe, and you're not safe. It's very scary."
