Killer In The Attic: Zonolite
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- 'Tis the season to whip out the holiday decorations but there is a report warning homeowners that there could be a disturbing killer hidden up in the attic.
Zonolite, a gold-flecked, dime-sized insulation which contains lethal asbestos-tainted vermiculite was installed in attics across the nation from the 1940s through the 1980s and it could be in 35 million homes across the United States.
When disturbed Zonolite can fly up into the air making it all too easy for people to breathe in the asbestos fibers.
Listen to a WCBS 880 interview with Andrew Schneider, the Senior Public Health Correspondent for AOL News, who has written a series on Zonolite.
