Keefe To The City: New York Hockey Chat

If Rick Nash is going to be a Ranger it won't happen until at least the 2012-13 season. Columbus general manager Scott Howson inexplicably turned down the Rangers' lofty offer for the Blue Jackets' captain and then turn on Nash by telling the media that Nash wants out of Columbus. It was a decision that will likely cost Howson his job in the near future and one that made little sense for a team that needs to rebuild and can't do so with Nash on the roster.
While Howson was busy turning down deals that would help his last-place team, the Rangers won again on Monday night as Henrik Lundqvist shut out the Devils. It seems like the Rangers have been "struggling" of late, but if "struggling" is 7-2-1 in the last 10 games, then they might want to keep it up.
WFAN's Brian Monzo, Chris LoPresti and Mike Carver joined me to talk about what happened at the NHL trade deadline, why Rick Nash wasn't moved and what to expect from the Rangers down the stretch after John Tortorella claimed his team isn't ready to win yet. We even let Carver rant for a little about his Islanders.
