Parents: Katonah Stabbing Victims in Good Condition
VALHALLA, N.Y. (AP) -- The parents of two girls who were stabbed in their home across the street from Martha Stewart's New York estate say they're in good condition.
Seven-year-old Maeve Kelly and 9-year-old Annabel Kelly were repeatedly slashed Saturday night while their parents were at a nearby concert in Katonah.
Parents Joseph and Eva Kelly issued a statement Tuesday through Westchester Medical Center Valhalla, where the girls are being treated. They thank the community and say the prognosis for the girls is positive.
An aunt was baby-sitting the girls and has been charged with assault. The Syracuse-based organization where she helped with disabled people a few years ago says she was a "good volunteer."
