Jury Selection Begins In Buffalo Mass Shooting
BUFFALO, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Jury selection was set to get under way for the trial of a former gang member charged with opening fire on a crowd outside a Buffalo restaurant.
Four people were killed and four others wounded in the August shooting outside the City Grill. Riccardo McCray was the only suspect.
The first- and second-degree murder charges could mean a life sentence for the 24-year-old if he's convicted.
McCray said he was at the restaurant but isn't the shooter. His Erie County Court trial will take place under heightened security.
Everyone entering the courtroom will be photographed and checked for weapons with a hand-held metal detector.
A pretrial hearing was held Monday. Jury selection was scheduled for Tuesday.
