Jury Selection Continues In 2nd Cheshire Home Invasion Trial
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- Jury selection for the second defendant charged in a deadly Connecticut home invasion will be resuming.
The trial of Joshua Komisarjevsky started last week with jury selection, a process that could take months as prospective jurors are questioned by prosecutors and defense attorneys. Jury selection continues Monday in New Haven Superior Court.
The first juror was picked Thursday.
Authorities say Komisarjevsky and Steven Hayes killed Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughters, 11-year-old Michaela and 17-year Hayley, in their Cheshire home in 2007.
Hawke-Petit's husband, Dr. William Petit, was beaten but survived.
Hayes was convicted last year and condemned to death by a jury.
