Jets' Tim Tebow Mixes Up Routine, Trains With Legendary Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Teachers

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Though critics are quick to point out that Jets quarterback Tim Tebow has numerous deficiencies and weaknesses in his game, one fact cannot be overlooked: The man is a physical specimen.

Known for being one of the hardest-working players in the game -- not to mention one of the most physically gifted in terms of pure strength -- Tebow has decided to mix up his workout routine in unconventional fashion.

The 24-year-old has teamed with the Gracie family, which is legendary in the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, NFL.com reported.

The first-round pick of the Broncos in 2010 has been working out at the family headquarters this week in Torrance, Calif. The 6-foot-3, 245-pounder has been training with Ryron Gracie and UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub.

Gracie was so impressed with Tebow's ability that he even took to Twitter to boast about the Florida alum, tweeting, "@TimTebow your athleticism/intelligence makes teaching Jiu jitsu even easier! @BrendanSchaub @RalekGracie stay alert!"

Tebow is "learning a style of martial arts characterized as a self-defense system that focuses on grappling and ground fighting," according to NFL.com's Dan Hanzus.

Tebow is expected to not only back up Mark Sanchez as the No. 2 quarterback for New York this season, but also figure into the running game and play an undetermined role on Mike Westhoff's special-teams unit.

Say what you want about Tim Tebow, but it's certainly hard to question his work ethic. Sound off with your thoughts and comments below...
