Jets' Jenkins: 'We're Going Out There To Win'

NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) -- Injured Jets nose tackle Kris Jenkins joined Boomer & Carton on Thursday morning to provide some insight into New York's  game plan for Sunday's AFC Championship match-up against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jenkins tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his surgically repaired left knee in the team's opener against Baltimore.

The 10-year veteran tore the same ACL midway through last season. He also tore the ACL in his right knee in 2005 while with Carolina.

"It is rough, it is. Sometimes you have your highs, sometimes you have your lows," Jenkins said. "It's just one of those situations that you wish you could be out there with the guys.

"At the end of the day, and I told Boomer this earlier, I'd rather be injured on a winning team than injured on a losing one."

Although Jenkins will not travel with the team to Pittsburgh, he knows Rex Ryan's gang will be all business Sunday against the Steelers.

"We're not going out there to lay down, we're going out there to win the game," said Jenkins. "We respect our opponent. I think it's a little bit different this week. You have to understand, the emotions of coming off last week and everything, right now the focus just needs to be on going out there and playing."

Do you think the Jets will suffer from their lack of trash-talk? Sound off in the comments below...
