Jets' Mangold Doubtful, Clady And Wilkerson Questionable Vs. Browns
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — New York Jets center Nick Mangold is doubtful to play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns because of a sprained ankle.
Mangold has missed just four games in his 11-year career, but it appears likely he'll have to sit this one out. His right ankle was heavily taped Thursday, and he didn't practice all week.
Wesley Johnson would likely replace Mangold, as he did after the center was injured early in the first quarter of New York's 24-16 win over Baltimore last Sunday.
Left tackle Ryan Clady (shoulder) and defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson (ankle) are questionable. Cornerback Buster Skrine (knee) is doubtful.
Coach Todd Bowles said Friday that Ben Ijalana would slide from right tackle to left tackle if Clady can't go. The Jets would also consider activating Breno Giacomini from reserve-physically unable to perform to play right tackle.
Linebackers Darron Lee (ankle) and Bruce Carter (quadriceps) were ruled out Thursday. Offensive lineman Brent Qvale is doubtful with a neck injury.
Running back Matt Forte (knee) and wide receiver Brandon Marshall (foot) are expected to play.
