Court Hearing Held For Jets, Patriots Fans Involved MetLife Stadium Brawl
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A hearing was held Wednesday in the case of a New York Jets fan charged with punching a woman at MetLife Stadium last month.
Lawyers for the four football fans allegedly involved in the incident appeared before a Municipal Court judge. Noticeably absent were the defendants themselves, who were excused from the first appearance, CBS 2's Alice Gainer reported.
Lawyers for the defendants reviewed new surveillance video of the fight. They said it shows a few more seconds of what happened compared to the YouTube video that went viral and doesn't give a clear view.

Kurt Paschke, 38, of Holbrook, Long Island, is charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
The surveillance video "really doesn't show criminal conduct on the part of Kurt Paschke," his attorney, Aida Leisenring, told 1010 WINS' Holly Haerr. "It does show and corroborates the fact that he was attacked multiple time."

Paschke was arrested along with two women -- Amanda MacDowell, 25, of Marlborough, Mass., and Jaclyn Nugent, 26, of Boston -- and a second man, David James Sacco, 28, of Boston.
"Jackie Nugent was a victim of a crime, not an aggressor," Nugent's attorney, Joe Cataldo, said.
The brawl, which was captured on cellphone video and posted to YouTube, happened during or after the Jets' 30-27 overtime victory over the Patriots on Oct. 20.
New Jersey State Police said an investigation concluded that MacDowell and Nugent were seen kicking and punching Paschke in the body and head.
Shortly afterward, Paschke, who was wearing a No. 80 Jets jersey, was seen striking Nugent, the woman in the video wearing a Patriots shirt, with a punch to the face, police said.
Sacco was then seen hitting Paschke in the face, police said.
Paschke's mother, Colleen, who witnessed the fight, said the Patriots fans were heckling their group from the opening kickoff and after the game, tensions exploded. She insisted her son was trying to break up the fight.
The Jets said in a statement last month that there is a "zero tolerance for this behavior" and said "those involved have been banned from attending any events at the stadium."
To be allowed back into MetLife Stadium, the Jets said the defendant will have to complete an online conduct course, submit a written apology and request permission to attend events.
The other defendants were also charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
"At the very worst these are offsetting penalties and they should really be ordered to drink a beer together and wear each others jerseys," Leisenring said.
