Jets Center Mangold Returns To Game After Apparent Arm Injury
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — New York Jets center Nick Mangold returned to the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after leaving with an apparent arm injury.
Mangold was injured on a play in which the Buccaneers sacked Geno Smith early in the third quarter. He remained face down on the turf for a few moments while trainers checked on him.
Mangold eventually rolled over on his back as the trainers looked at his right arm. Mangold walked to the sideline on his own, but was taken to the locker room a few minutes later.
Mangold missed two offensive plays, but was back in — wearing a black sleeve on his right arm — on the Jets' next possession
Tight end Jeff Cumberland also left in the first half with an apparent head injury, but returned at the start of the fourth quarter.
