Jersey City Councilman Introduces Legislation Mandating Bathrooms Throughout City Be Gender-Neutral
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Jersey City will consider gender-neutral bathrooms.
Councilman James Soloman introduced legislation that will mandate all single-stall toilets throughout the city be accessible to anyone.
If the ordinance is approved, all bathrooms would be gender-neutral.
Soloman says his office began to work on the ordinance in 2020 after Mayor Steven Fulop's executive order made all bathrooms in municipal buildings gender-neutral.
