Jerry Seinfeld To Add Long Island Show, Donate Proceeds To Sandy Relief
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Jerry Seinfeld announced Wednesday that he has added a show in Long Island to his upcoming tour in December, and that he will donate the proceeds from that show – as well as two others in Brooklyn and Staten Island – to relief efforts for Superstorm Sandy victims.
The Long Island show is planned for Dec. 19 at the NYCB Theatre, at 960 Brush Hollow Rd. in Westbury. Seinfeld for the show will be joined by "Saturday Night Live" and "Tough Crowd" alumnus Colin Quinn.
Shows have already been scheduled for this coming Thursday at the Walt Whitman Theatre at Brooklyn College, and on Dec. 6 at the St. George Theatre, at 35 Hyatt St. in Staten Island. Proceeds from all three shows will be donated to relief organizations, according to a news release.
Seinfeld, 58, was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Massapequa, Nassau County.
"I grew up on Long Island, and New York City is home," Seinfeld said in the news release. "This is a tough time for this area, and we're just glad to be able to help in the recovery."
Tickets for the 7 p.m. performance in Long Island were set to go on sale Nov. 30.
