Jerry Ramrattan On Trial For Allegedly Framing Ex-Girlfriend Who Accused Him Of Rape
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - A Queens jury was hearing testimony in the bizarre case of a man charged in what can be described as the most elaborate frame-up prosecutors have ever seen.

Jerry Ramrattan, who pretended to be a private detective and knew a bit about police work from being a police informant, is on trial for plotting an elaborate revenge against a girlfriend who accused him of rape.
While he walked free on the rape charge, the girlfriend, Simona Sumasar, went to jail.
Sumasar was charged with pulling off a series of armed robberies while dressed as a uniformed cop. She was a former financial analyst who owned a restaurant.
She spent seven months in jail until police got a tip that she had been framed.
The people who posed as victims of these fictitious crimes have now testified that Ramrattan coerced them into making the false police reports.
Ramrattan himself is expected to take the stand on Friday at his own defense.
Queens district attorney Richard Brown has said of him: "Few people have the capacity to pull of a master plot of this magnitude in the name of revenge."
