Janitor Awaits Arraignment After Allegedly Stealing Laptops At U.S. Open
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A janitor working at the U.S. Open is accused of stealing laptop computers from the New York City tennis tournament for two years in a row.
Prosecutors say Kenneth R. O'Quinn was arrested on charges including grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. The 45-year-old Queens man could spent 15 years in prison, if convicted. He was being held Saturday pending arraignment.
The Queens County district attorney's office says O'Quinn took two laptop computers from the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Sept. 1. Investigators later searched O'Quinn's house, finding three laptops stolen from last year's U.S. Open and crack cocaine.
Prosecutors did not have O'Quinn's attorney information. A message left at a number listed for him was not immediately returned Saturday.
