Jaguars-Broncos Week 6 Matchup Has Historic 28-Point Spread
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It will be must-watch television.
Especially for gamblers.
On Sunday, the 5-0 Broncos will take on the 0-5 Jaguars. It shouldn't be a pretty football game, as the Broncos are dominating opponents and the Jags are consistently getting dominated.
But for the sports bettors out there, it should be fascinating.
According to the Las Vegas Hotel, Denver is favored by 28 points over the putrid Jaguars in Week 6.
The number ties the highest point spread of all time, according to ESPN. The network reported that prior to the AFL-NFL merger, the Colts were favored 28 points over the Falcons in 1966. It's the highest point spread since 1970, ESPN reported.
"The Jaguars are just so awful, and the interest in betting on the Broncos has been pretty consistent," Jay Kornegay, who runs the sports book at the Las Vegas Hotel, told ESPN. "There's a group of us here who put together the lines for each week and it took us 10-15 minutes to debate what this number would be. Some folks didn't feel that good about making history with this."
The Broncos scored 51 points in their thrilling victory over the Cowboys on Sunday.
The Jaguars? They have scored 51 points all season.
That led to this awkward, testy Twitter exchange.
As always, the spread is subject to change throughout the week.
Are you going to take the points on Sunday?
