Jacobs Posts Instagram Photo In Giants Uniform, Writes He's 'Trying To Get Back'
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Running back Brandon Jacobs would like to return to the Giants, and he wants the world to know it.
The 30-year-old played with Big Blue from 2005–2011, and has the most rushing touchdowns in franchise history with 56. But the two-time Super Bowl champion was released by New York on March 9, 2012.
The veteran subsequently signed with the San Francisco 49ers later that month, though he was waived by the reigning NFC champions on December 31.
Now looking for a job, Jacobs took to social media to express his desire to once again suit up for the G-Men.
The New York Post posted a screen grab from Jacobs' Instagram in which he's running over a Patriots defender in a Giants uniform. Under the picture, Jacobs writes, "Trying to get back in this uniform."

New York released Ahmad Bradshaw early in the offseason, but second-year player David Wilson is slated to be the team's No. 1 running back in 2013 after an impressive rookie campaign. Jacobs, on the other hand, played in just two games for San Francisco last season, rushing the ball five times for seven yards. A knee injury cost him the first two months of the season and, upon his return, he wasn't a factor.
His tenure in San Francisco ended in controversy when he posted a picture of himself in a Giants uniform on Instagram and wrote, "I am on this team rotting away so why would I wanna put any pics up of anything that say niners. This is by far the worst year I ever had, I'll tell you like I told plenty others."
Jacobs' outcry resulted in him being suspended for the final three games of the season.
The former fourth-round pick's best season came in 2008 when he carried the ball 219 times for 1,089 yards and 15 touchdown in just 13 games.
In his final season with the Giants he rushed for 571 yards and seven touchdowns in 14 games.
