J-Lo Makes Surprise Trip To The Bronx, Makes Donation To 'Center For A Healthy Childhood'
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Jennifer Lopez made a surprise visit to the Bronx on Sunday.
The Lopez Family Foundation donated $250,000 to Montefiore's new 'Center For A Healthy Childhood.'
The singer is preparing to rock the stage at Orchard Beach in Pelham Bay Park, but residents are worried that traffic will block City Island Road, the only way onto the island.
Lopez said that she is aware of the concerns but did not think that overcrowding would be an issue.
"Our crowd is not as big as the July 4th crowd, don't worry. Our crowd is not as big as the Memorial Day crowd," she said, "It's going to be awesome coming back to the Bronx to do a concert for free for the neighborhood that raised me."
The concert is expected to draw 25,000 fans. It will be the first time that Lopez has held a concert in her home borough.
