HARRISON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A large road sign came down like a guillotine on Tuesday in Harrison.
It's amazing that it didn't slice into a car and hurt someone.
Now, the sign is on the side of the road where Westchester Avenue joins up with the Hutchinson River Parkway and there is a dispute over who is responsible for it.

The Journal News reports the state Department of Transportation says it's on a county road and Westchester County should do the maintenance.
The county countered that it was installed by the state and last inspected by the state 13 years ago and, therefore, it's the DOT's responsibility.
The Exit 9S sign toppled across the ramp for the southbound Hutch from the I-287 service road. It's a rectangle and its area is probably equal to three or four parking spaces.
It appears the bolts at the bottom of the stanchion gave out.
