It's Already Prom Season In Mount Vernon
MOUNT VERNON, NY (WCBS 880) - It may be the middle of winter, but that isn't stopping some Westchester students from thinking about that crucial spring ritual: prom.
Mount Vernon will be host to a prom expo later this week at the Doles Community Center.

The event will have music, a runway show, vendors, and safety lectures.
They'll also be giving away 75 prom gowns to underprivileged students.
Mayor Clinton I. Young, Jr. says he's thrilled the event will celebrate prom and teach students how to have a good time responsibly.
"This is a wonderful event for all the juniors and senior of Mount Vernon... More importantly, this expo will teach our young people how to celebrate their prom responsibly, while helping to give their parents an added level of comfort," said the mayor in a news release.
The event is free for all high school juniors and seniors.
The expo begins February 24, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at the the Doles Community Center at 250 South Sixth Avenue.
