WFAN, WCBS-880 To Broadcast Islanders Stanley Cup Playoff Games
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- The Islanders are coming to the FAN.
CBS Radio and the team announced Wednesday that the Isles' opening-round playoff games will be broadcast on either WFAN or WCBS-880.
"Were excited to be able to bring Stanley Cup playoff hockey to the entire Metropolitan area on two of our great radio stations: WCBS Newsradio 880 and Sports Radio 66/101.9 FM WFAN," said Marc Rayfield, Senior Vice President and Market Manager for CBS Radio New York.
The Islanders open their first-round series against the Florida Panthers on Thursday night at 8 p.m. in Sunrise, Florida. The series continues Friday at 8 p.m. before shifting to Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Sunday. Game 4 will be played on April 20 in Brooklyn.
Islanders Radio Network broadcasters Chris King and Greg Picker will call the games.
"We are thrilled to partner with CBS Radio to provide the Islanders with widespread exposure during the team's Stanley Cup playoff games," said Brett Yormark, CEO of Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment. "We are excited to deliver great playoff action to fans throughout the tri-state area."
WFAN's Boomer Esiason and Chris Moore will anchor a two-hour pre game show prior to Game 3, starting at 6 p.m.
The Islanders, who finished with 100 points during the regular season, will be making their third playoff appearance in the last four seasons.
