IRS Has Nearly $7M In Undelivered NJ Funds
MOUNTAINSIDE, N.J. (AP/CBSNewYork) -- The IRS has some good news for nearly 3,200 New Jerseyans who did not received their tax refunds this year: There's nearly $7 million waiting for them.
The IRS says the undelivered refund checks were returned to the IRS due to mailing address errors.
The IRS can reissue the checks, which average $2,181, after the 3,198 taxpayers correct or update their addresses with the agency.
Nationally, there are 111,893 taxpayers with undelivered refunds, totaling $164.6 million. That's an average refund of $1,471.
Taxpayers can call (800) 829-1954 or log on to IRS.gov and click on the "Where's My Refund" link to check on the status.
