Investigators Examine Surveillance Footage In Murder Of Brooklyn Coins Dealer Steve Halfan
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Police spent Wednesday scouring surveillance footage as they investigate the murder of Brooklyn coins dealer Steve Halfan.
Halfan closed his jewelry and coin store in Brooklyn's Gravesend section at around 5 p.m. Tuesday. Footage from the store shows him being attacked as he nears his car, and being forced into another car. Struggling to escape from that vehicle, Halfan was forced back into the car after a second car joined the scene.
The two cars leave, followed by a third car, and Halfan's own car, driven by suspects for whom police are searching.
Halfan's body was found a mile away in Midwood.
"Obviously, somebody had to be following him, stalked him and ambushed him. He was by himself," friend "Angela" told CBS 2's Pablo Guzman.
"I was proud to have known him," said neighbor Charles Franco. "That kind of a man."
