6 Children, 1 Adult Hurt In School Bus Accident In Old Tappan, N.J.
OLD TAPPAN, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A total of seven people were injured Monday afternoon when a school bus collided with a pickup truck in Old Tappan, N.J.
Six children were among the injured.
The slow-speed collision happened at Orangeburg Road and Zotti Avenue, CBS 2's Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2 HD.
The bus was carrying 43 children, ranging in age from 4 to 12, who had just been picked up from a nearby day camp.
All the children were removed from the bus and were on a front lawn across the street. Paramedics began a triage operation.
The six injured children, and one adult, were treated at hospitals. Authorities said the six children suffered minor injuries, while the pickup driver had "moderate injuries."
Most of the children were up and walking around at the triage scene immediately following the accident.
