Injured Man Found In Trunk, Following BMW-Taxi Crash
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – This one is straight out of a Hollywood script.
Police said a bloodied man with a head injury was found in the trunk of a BMW after the driver got into a fender-bender with a taxi.
The discovery was made Wednesday morning as heavy snow once again snarled traffic and commutes and – as the driver found out – made city roads very slick.
Police said the driver of the BMW apparently slid at a stoplight and rear-ended a taxi. But the driver got out of the car and ran, and the taxi driver called 911.
Police said they noticed the back seat was folded down. They eventually discovered the unidentified man in the trunk. He was hospitalized in stable condition.
Authorities were investigating. They said the license plates on the car didn't match the vehicle registration, and that police were looking for the owner.
