Injection Procedure Fights Unsightly Varicose Veins

If you have unsightly veins in your legs and hands, you're not alone. As TV 10-55's Katie McGee reports, up to 55 percent of women and 45 percent of men are affected by either spider or varicose veins.

But you don't have to let them sideline your seasonal wardrobe.
Dr. Lee Schulman, vein specialist, admits there is little that can be done to prevent the condition – but there are steps we can take.
"Genetics is obviously a factor in many, many cases," Dr. Schulman said. "It seems women get spider veins more than men, which suggests there is a hormonal reason behind it."
In fact, there is a simple procedure known as injection-compression sclerotherapy which has proven to be effective in fighting the appearance of veins.
