Inauguration Viewing Parties Planned Around New York City
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Numerous inauguration viewing parties and other events have been were planned for Monday in New York, some of them in conjunction with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
As WCBS 880's Ginny Kosola reported, viewers can watch the inauguration with the Powhatan Democratic Club at Raven's Head Public House, 38-04 Broadway in Astoria, Queens.
Inauguration Viewing Parties Planned Around New York City
The Abyssinian Baptist Church, at 174 W. 136th St. in Harlem, will have a big-screen TV and program. And at the Harlem Armory, 1 W. 142nd St., organizers have planned an "Inauguration of a Dream" ceremony.
Democracy Public Schools is hosting the event at the armory.
"This time we will have a similar few thousand people joining us, to watch the inauguration ceremonies, performances and then to participate in community service at the end of the day in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Day," said Democracy Public Schools Supt. Seth Andrews.
Free food will also be served.
