Hundreds Participate In Good Riddance Day In Times Square
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Those went to Times Square Friday were able to literally shred their bad memories of 2012. It's Good Riddance Day.

From Sandy to Newtown, it was a year we saw the worst of both Mother Nature and mankind.
"We lived in Long Beach. We were on the fourth floor in our building and our building is still not operational. There's no electric. There's no mechanical. So, we had to move," said Adam, who survived the storm and was saying good riddance at the site between 43rd and 44th Streets.

"I said 'good riddance' to impulsive decisions," said one girl. "The worst one was probably teen drinking."
Some hoped to rid themselves of bad karma and move on from bad boyfriends.
"I'm doing fine without him," said one woman.
"I got a bad review and a letter that really led to me being fired," said Katherine Bond of Manhattan, who tossed that review into the shredder. "It feels great. I recommend it if you have anything with you."
"I'm hoping in 2013 I can, you know, get some positive energy and get a job," said Anne, a recent college graduate doing away with self-loathing and wiping the slate clean.
