Hundreds Gather To Pummel Each Other With Pillows In Washington Square Park
NEW YORK (AP) -- The feathers are flying in New York City. Hundreds of people gathered today in Washington Square Park to fling pillows at one another. Many came dressed in pajamas and similar attire. The weather was cooperating, and participants say it was a lot of fun.
One woman says this was something she always wanted to do when she was a kid, making it even more fun to do as an adult.
Similar events marking International Pillow Fight Day were scheduled for Washington, D.C, Atlanta, Boston and Chicago. Elsewhere around the globe, pillow fights were planned in Hong Kong, London and Warsaw, Poland.
