New York State Sen. Brad Hoylman Finds Swastika In His Apartment Building
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Democratic State Senator Brad Hoylman said he found a swastika in his Greenwhich Village apartment building.
He posted a photo on Twitter on Tuesday night:
Hoylman is openly gay and Jewish. He believes the swastikas were inspired by Donald Trump's election win and his hiring of former Breitbart News executive Stephen Bannon as a senior White House adviser, 1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported.
"It seems that President-elect Donald Trump has unleashed a torrent of bigots to wreak havoc," Hoylman said. "Police are investigating along with the NYPD Hate Crimes Unit."
Mayor Bill de Blasio responded with a tweet, saying "hate has no place in NYC."
The incident is under investigation.
The Trump transition team insists Bannon is not racist or anti-Semitic.
