How Hot Was It This Summer?
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - We talked all summer about how it was unusually hot and the numbers back it up.
LISTEN: WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reports
WCBS 880 reporter Peter Haskell says we've had 37 90-degree days and, even though summer ended at 11:09 p.m. Wednesday, number 38 could come Friday.
This would not, however, be a record.
There were 39 90-degree days in both 1991 and 1993.
The hottest month this year was July. There were 16 90-degree days, which means that more than half the days had 90-degree readings.
If you think that 37 90-plus days are a lot, consider Newark. It had 52 90-degree days this year.
