Historic Ho-Ho-Kus Bridge Being Replaced
HO-HO-KUS, NJ (AP) - Beginning Monday, a northern New Jersey bridge will be closed for six months while it receives $1.2 million in repairs.
The Warren Avenue Bridge in Ho-Ho-Kus is the oldest truss bridge in Bergen County. It connects Franklin Turnpike to Brookside Avenue.
The Record newspaper reports the steel structure will be repainted and get a new deck, handrails and guardrails. Sidewalks will be repaired.
East traffic will be temporarily routed from Franklin Turnpike along Maple Avenue south to Brookside Avenue. Traffic from the west side of the bridge will move from Brookside Avenue to First Street, then Maple Avenue north to Franklin Turnpike.
