NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Colorful costumes filled more than 30 blocks of Fifth Avenue in Manhattan Sunday.

Hundreds of performers participated in the annual Hispanic Day Parade, which stretched from 44th Street up to 77th Street.

Organizers said the parade "encourages the traditional values, music, costumes, and folklore of each participating country."

Hispanic Heritage Month wraps up on Tuesday.

Meanwhile in the Bronx, drummers, dancers and plenty of cute kids participated in the Columbus Day Parade.

The celebration around Morris Park pays a special focus to Italian-American heritage and pride.

The parade usually attracts about 1 million spectators.
