High School Dean Accused Of Having Sex With, Harassing Students
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A dean at a high school in Hell's Kitchen has resigned, after investigators said he had sex with four students – one of them 16 years old.
As 1010 WINS' Al Jones reported Tuesday, Malik Taylor, 31, was a dean at the Business of Sports School, at 439 W. 49th St. A report on his alleged conduct was released Tuesday by Richard Condon, special commissioner for investigation for city schools.
High School Dean Accused Of Having Sex With, Harassing Students
"He made remarks to students about the size of their buttocks or the size of their breasts, or told them what he would like to do to them," Condon said.
That approach may fly late night at the club, but Taylor allegedly had sex with four students at the Business of Sports School, and sexually harassed at least four others.
The sex allegedly happened in classrooms, in motels and in his car.
His alleged victims were between the ages of 16 and 19. The legal age of consent in New York is 17.
"Because of sex with a 16-year-old, we referred it to both Manhattan and Brooklyn district attorneys," Condon said.
Condon said Taylor resigned two days after the investigation started in May, but he still may face prosecution.
A Department of Education spokeswoman said Taylor's actions are "completely reprehensible" and he will never work in city schools again.
