Heyman: Mets Believed To Have Offered Curtis Granderson 3-Year Deal
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- According to WFAN/CBS Sports baseball insider Jon Heyman, the Mets are believed to have offered free agent outfielder Curtis Granderson a three-year deal.
Heyman also reports that Granderson is looking for a five-year deal and that the 32-year-old outfielder is seeking $17 million per year.
The Mets are hoping to acquire a power hitter who can offer protection compliment franchise third baseman David Wright.
Granderson's 84 home runs slugged between 2011-12 led all major leaguers. Injuries plagued Granderson's 2013 season. He only hit seven homers and batted .229 in 61 games.
