At the Bellmore Long Island Rail Road station, there will be a designated area just for residents of the Town of Hemsptead.
It will be at the corner of Sunrise Highway and Center Avenue.
"This will assure greater security for our Town of Hempstead commuters and we hope that this pilot program will go some distance in helping our Town of Hempstead residents find a spot," Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall.
Murray said there will be 227 parking spots and residents will have to purchase a permit next month, which is $3 per year.
Those who park in the special lot without a permit will be ticketed.
