Heavy Rain Causes Flooding In Parts Of Tri-State Area
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Flooding has been reported in parts of the Tri-State area after bands of heavy rain moved through early Friday morning.
The main threat of flooding was in low-lying areas.
In Brooklyn, there was flooding on 9th Street between 2nd and Smith, CBS2's Andrea Grymes reported. Video from the scene showed cars slowly plowing through the water-covered street.
The water has since receded.
Police have also reported flooding in Jersey City and Newark. A flash flood watch is in effect until noon Friday for most of the Garden State.
Forecasters say the rest of Friday will be cloudy and humid with a couple of showers, but not as warm as recent days with highs near 80.
