Heat Won't Hold Back Wounded Warriors On Long Island
BABYLON, NY (WCBS 880) - They're all very uncomfortable in the heat.

But that did not stop hundreds of people from getting on their bicycles at Babylon town hall and trying to ride thirty miles to support the Wounded Warrior Project and Soldier Ride Long Island.
"We recognize what they do for us and we take so many things for granted, that we have the liberties that we do because of them, is something to really honor," Linda Delvale said as she was putting on her helmet.
Veteran James Byler, who lost his legs in Afghanistan, said he is overwhelmed by the support from the community.
"It's amazing, so much more love here than the Vietnam generation that got a much different reception," Byler told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall.
Veteran Butch Freeman was injured in Iraq.
"I first ran into the Wounded Warrior Project after I got injured. For me, that was my turning point. [I] used to be locked in the house...and it actually got me out with people. So, I owe a lot to them," he said.
How are folks beating the heat?
One veteran said he is going to follow the crowd and get the strength from others.
