School superintendent Michael Radday says the situation is under control.
"Really the best thing we can do is get information out there. We've used our Connect-Ed, which is a telephone notification system, to notify parents. We've posted some information on our website to help keep parents informed," he said Thursday.
So far this year, some 40 cases of whooping cough have been confirmed in Suffolk County.
As for the infected students in this case, they're okay.
"Right now, we're fortunate that all three students were treated and are healthy and back in school," said Radday.
